Joshua Levinberg: Founder and Managing Partner
Joshua Levinberg has been involved with the initiation and growth of several successful companies. Joshua co-founded Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. in 1987 and now serves as its Senior Advisor for Business Development and Corporate Strategy. Joshua previously served at Gilat as Executive VP for Corporate BD and Strategy. While in Gilat, In 2002 Joshua co-founded and was the first Chairman of Satlynx (now G.E. Satcom, following its acquisition by GE). In 1998 Joshua founded and was the CEO of Global Village Telecom (GVT) – a company that was acquired by Vivendi in 2009 for $4B. He previously held the position of V.P. Marketing for G.E. Spacenet Inc., and in 1990 established and was the General Manager of Gilat Inc. in the US. Mr. Levinberg holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from Tel Aviv University.
Tal Shaked: Venture Partner
Tal Shaked joined JAL Ventures in 2004. He overlooks the existing portfolio as well as responsible for identifying and executing new investment opportunities. While in JAL, Tal led the investment in Kasamba and served as an advisor to its board until it was sold to LivePerson. Tal held various business development positions in the hi-tech industry including - Vice President for Business Development in Satlynx Luxembourg, associate Vice President of Corporate Ventures in Gilat and Director of Business Development in Gilat. Earlier, Mr. Shaked held marketing and R&D positions at Eldat Communication, an infrared wireless communication start-up later acquired by Pricer. Mr. Shaked holds an MA in Economics (cum laude) and a BSc in Computer Science & Economics (cum laude), both from Tel Aviv University.
Amiram Levinberg: Founding Partner
Amiram Levinberg, who is currently not active in JAL ventures, is the CEO, Chairman and co-founder of Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd, publicly traded in NASDAQ (GILT). Gilat develops and markets innovative satellite products and services to operators in 85 countries, with annual sales of $228m in 2009 and approximately 1000 employees worldwide. Amiram also serves on the Board of Cardboard Industries and Kargal. Amiram previously held positions as Gilat’s President, Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Levinberg served in a research and development unit of the Israeli Defense Force (1977-1987) and was awarded the Israel Defense Award in 1988. Mr. Levinberg holds a MSc. in Digital Communications and a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion.
